Songs of Shakespeare by So. Oregon Repertory Singers, July 11

“Songs of Shakespeare”
Monday, July 11, 2011 – 8:00pm
Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s Elizabethan Stage, Ashland, OR
FREE pre-concert lecture at 7:00 pm
The Southern Oregon Repertory Singers are delighted to present their ninth annual concert of readings and songs of Shakespeare. The concert will be held on the stage of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s Elizabethan Theatre. Joining the singers will be actors from the OSF company, in a concert not to be missed.
Featured will be two world premieres: one by SORS Composer-in-Residence Craig Kingsbury, and one by SORS own Jodi French. Other highlights include works by John Rutter, William Mathias, Allan Bevan, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, and others who celebrate the glory of the word as written by the Bard of Avon.
Hear for yourself why Richard Moeschl, formerly of the Mail Tribune, says “Mark the Music” and described this concert as “ethereal vocalizing” and a “feast for the ears.” Come and be delighted!
